Dirk Nowitzki doesn’t dunk much anymore, so maybe he forgot rule No. 1 of attacking the rim: Don’t challenge Russell Westbrook.

During the second quarter of Thursday's Game 3 between the host Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder, the 37-year-old forward tried to throw down in transition.

Westbrook flew in—seemingly out of nowhere—to whack Nowitzki’s attempt off the glass, keeping it at a nine-point margin for the visitors.
