Chelsea Transfer News: Eden Hazard, Antonio Conte, Radja Nainggolan, Top Rumours

Rory MarsdenApr 18, 2016

Eden Hazard has reportedly told incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte that he will stay at Stamford Bridge "rather than pursue a move to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain" this summer.

According to Matt Hughes and Gary Jacob in the Times, Hazard is aware of how poor he has been this season but has assured Conte that he intends to stay at Chelsea and "focus on regaining his best form over the summer."

The 2014-15 PFA Player of the Year has been remarkably bad this term, failing to net a single goal so far in 26 appearances in the Premier League campaign, per WhoScored.com.

Reports have suggested the 25-year-old is unhappy at the west London club, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Real, especially since Zinedine Zidane was appointed manager, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe and Dean Jones:

However, it seems the Belgian forward has now been convinced to stay after talking to Conte upon confirmation of the Italian's appointment.

Though he has had a very poor season, Hazard has not become a bad player all of a sudden, and Conte will hope he can return to the form he showed in the Blues' Premier League-winning 2014-15 season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have reportedly "been cleared to sign Radja Nainggolan" from Roma in the summer after the Serie A side's director, Mauro Baldissoni, revealed any player could be sold.

Per Italian outlet Mediaset Premium (via Metro's Tom Olver), Baldissoni hinted that the £36 million-rated Nainggolan could be used to raise funds for summer purchases:

"

There’s nothing indispensable.

A player could be sold to bring in fresh funds and sign different figures, but it would in any case be a choice.

We will make choices within the club with the perspective of coach and players to see how we can reinforce and improve Roma.

"

Belgian Nainggolan, 27, has established himself as one of the top central midfielders in Italy since joining Roma in 2014.

Given the poor form of Chelsea duo Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas this season, Nainggolan could be a key addition in rejuvenating the Blues squad, and Conte is said to be an "avid admirer" of his, per Mediaset (via Olver).

Conte has a significant job on his hands to make Chelsea title contenders again, but if Hazard can return to form and the Blues can bring in Nainggolan, then the squad will already look in much better shape.
