Liverpool vs. Borussia Dortmund: Goals, Highlights from Europa League Match

Borussia Dortmund came to Anfield on Thursday night for the second leg of "El Kloppico": the UEFA Europa League clash of two of world football's greatest providers of stadium atmosphere, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. 

The pre-match rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone," sung in unison by both sets of fans, was as emotionally charged as one may have expected:

With fewer than four minutes on the clock, the visitors had one on the board when Simon Mignolet parried a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang volley into the path of Henrikh Mkhitaryan:

Things got even worse for the Reds in the ninth minute when Aubameyang doubled Dortmund's advantage:

In the 20th minute, Adam Lallana found himself with a clear shot at goal from 10 yards out, but this happened:

In the 48th minute, Liverpool managed to get back into the game when Divock Origi scored his second goal of the tie after some excellent build-up play:

Less than 10 minutes after Origi restored hope, however, it was dashed when Marco Reus connected with a sublime Mats Hummels pass to make it 3-1 on the night:
