Smylie Kaufman Rewarded with New Nissan After Masters Interview
Kaufman entered the final round of the Masters just one stroke behind defending champion Jordan . Although Sunday didn't go quite as well as he'd hoped (Kaufman finished way down at ), he didn't go home empty-handed.
During an interview with Jim before the final round, Kaufman mentioned that he drives a 2008 Nissan .
Nissan found out about it.
In a press release (via Mark of AL.com), Nissan North America vice president of marketing communications and media Jeremy Tucker said:
"No matter who wears the green jacket at the end of the day, is already a winner in our book. From his hole-in-one in Wednesday's par-3 event to his great round on "moving day," we're impressed by his poise at Augusta and were thrilled to hear of his choice of wheels at home.
"
If Twitter is to be believed, it appears Nissan came through on its promise.
Danny Willett got $1.8 million for his win, but Kaufman got a new car. Not bad for the kid's Masters debut.
