Nearly 30 years after WrestleMania III broke an indoor attendance record, WWE made history again.

Of course, fans have questioned the legitimacy of WrestleMania III's record for decades, and those same fans will likely cast a skeptical gaze at WrestleMania 32's crowd figures. Regardless, there's no doubting AT&T Stadium was filled the brim, as captured by Bill Hanstock of SB Nation's Cageside Seats:

It's a testament to the spectacle and aura around WrestleMania that WWE was able to draw so many fans. With a number of Superstars out injured and a lack of forward momentum coming out of Royal Rumble, it looked like the company might have a hard time filling the stadium.

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel's Brian Fritz in March, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon discussed the difficult circumstances:

"

I can say, unequivocally, that it's a lot of pressure. Every year you have to outdo yourself. This year was difficult because John Cena was not a part of it. We have to reach way down and try and come up with things you haven't done before and also hold back surprises that the audience does not know. They expect that from us.

"

McMahon can rest easy knowing WWE made a boatload of money Sunday. The company grossed $12.6 million from WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Considering how many fans came to WrestleMania 32, WWE is in line to boost its financial portfolio.
