Adrien Broner was set to defend his WBA super lightweight belt against Ashley Theophane on Friday. Instead, the defending champion managed to lose his title before even stepping foot inside the ring.

The WBA stripped Broner of the title after he failed to make the 140-pound limit at Thursday's weigh-in.

The fight still went ahead at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C., Broner recording a stoppage victory in Round 9 before going on to call out Floyd Mayweather Jr.
