Diego Costa Given 1-Match Suspension, Fine by FA for Everton Red Card Reaction
The Football Association has given Chelsea striker Diego Costa an additional one-match ban and a £20,000 fine after he admitted a charge of improper conduct in the wake of his dismissal against Everton on March 12.
“The forward admitted a charge of improper conduct in relation to his behaviour,” read a statement on the FA’s website on Friday. “This suspension will follow immediately on the conclusion of the player's current ban.”
Costa was banned for two games following the dismissal, but he will now miss the trip to Swansea City as well as Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa. The former Atletico Madrid man sat out Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United on March 19.

The Spain international forward was sent off for two yellow cards in the FA Cup quarter-final loss and appeared to gesture toward Toffees supporters as he was ushered down the tunnel.
After a difficult start to the 2015-16 season, Costa has rediscovered his best form under the tutelage of Guus Hiddink. It means this ban has come at the worst possible time for him and the Blues, who are short of options at the point of the attack, meaning the next couple of clashes could become a bit of a grind.
