Yadier Molina Undergoes Surgery for Pelvic Injury, Out at Least 4 Weeks
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is expected to miss at least four weeks after undergoing pelvic surgery after taking a foul ball to the groin Saturday.
Molina, 35, went down in the eighth inning of Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs after being hit by a Kris Bryant foul ball. The injury to his groin required emergency surgery.
"That was a bad one," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny told reporters. "Those don't necessarily feel better tomorrow."

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
In his 15th season with the Cardinals, Molina has been largely healthy for the last three seasons. He has caught at least 136 games in each of those campaigns.
Molina was off to a hot start in 2018, hitting .272 with six home runs and 17 runs batted in.
One of MLB's finest all-around catchers, Molina has made eight of the last nine All-Star Games. He's won eight Gold Gloves and refined his game to add more offensive firepower. While the power hasn't matched his 2012 heights, Molina remains a solid contact hitter and defender.
