UNDER 9 Minnesota Twins/Detroit Tigers:
This is it, the big 4 game set between the Tigers and Twins finally gets underway tonight with much fanfare. Detroit leads Minnesota by 2 games in the AL Central, and this series should decide who wins the division. We expect a teririfc, well pitched series between these two clubs.

Nick Blackburn (11-11, 4.18) has had an up and down season, but is back to his early season form and is pitching great at the right time. He’s 3-2 with a 3.60 ERA in his last 5 starts, and is coming off of his best efffort of the year last time out.

Rookie Rick Porcello (14-9, 4.14) is having a great debut season for the Tigers. He could win rookie of the year, and looks to be one with a bright future. Obviously this is his first pennant race, but he’s been so poised all year, I don’t see it as an issue. He’s 3-1 with a 3.60 ERA in his last 5 starts.
