Federer Comments on Recovery, Return
Monday, June 6
"It's been a difficult year for me, to put it mildly,' Federer said Monday, adding he has had no setbacks in the last three weeks," according to the Associated Press (via ESPN.com). He continued:
"Now, I am feeling really well. ...
If I survive a couple of matches, when you are in the semifinals, you start thinking about the title. But to think now about the title here would be a little premature. Now it's important to come back from injuries. That's really the only thing that matters for me.

Federer's Back the Latest Injury for Tennis Icon
Federer underwent arthroscopic surgery Feb. 3 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and was scheduled to return to the court March 25 for second-round play at the Miami Open in Key Biscayne, Florida.
However, Federer fell ill with a stomach virus and was forced to withdraw before clashing with Juan Martin del Potro.
Although Federer captured six singles titles and posted a record of 59-10 during the 2015 season, he once again failed to snap his Grand Slam drought.
The 34-year-old hasn't won a Grand Slam since he triumphed over Andy Murray in the 2012 Wimbledon final, and his 2016 season started in disappointing fashion with a semifinal exit at the hands of world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open.
Time certainly isn't on Federer's side now that he's in his mid-30s, so staying healthy beyond this latest setback will be of the utmost importance with Slam season in full swing.
