WrestleMania 32 Will Cement Brock Lesnar as WWE's Greatest Monster of All Time

Sebastian MaldonadoMar 18, 2016

Brock Lesnar is all set for WrestleMania 32.

The Beast will battle Dean Ambrose in a No Holds Barred Street Fight on April 3. Ambrose has his work cut out for him, to say the least.

Lesnar is the Mayor of Suplex City, tossing his opponents across the ring. He catapults his enemies effortlessly. It’s his motto: Eat, Sleep, Suplex, Repeat.

Paul Heyman, the advocate and voice for The Beast, generated this philosophy. He orchestrates the destruction while reveling in Lesnar’s work. Lesnar also appears sporadically, showing up when he pleases and leaving a path of devastation in his wake.

Unfortunately, as of late, he has been sidetracked.

The Royal Rumble featured Lesnar eliminating The Wyatt Family, only for it to return the favor. Recently, at Roadblock, he got a form of retribution by defeating Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt.

WWE Fastlane featured Lesnar vying to main-event, with Ambrose and Roman Reigns in his way. As Lesnar had Reigns in his kimura submission lock, Ambrose repeatedly hit Lesnar with a chair. Lesnar attacked Ambrose the next night on Raw, which led to Ambrose challenging Lesnar to a WrestleMania bout. Lesnar attacked him once more, and Heyman accepted on Lesnar’s behalf.

With WrestleMania season on the horizon, Lesnar is more motivated than ever against Ambrose. What makes this encounter different from the last?

For starters, as an undersized scrapper, Ambrose is in over his head. Second, Lesnar is still seething over Ambrose preventing him from winning at Fastlane. Lastly, The Beast is always angry, which creates a noxious situation leading into WrestleMania 32.

This brings us to a stunning revelation at Ambrose’s expense: WrestleMania 32 will cement Lesnar as WWE’s greatest monster of all time.

Let’s examine The Beast’s WrestleMania experiences. He’s not undefeated, but his resume is off the charts at the event.

His first WrestleMania opponent was Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19, where Lesnar defeated Angle for the WWE Championship. This was after the ill-fated shooting star press he attempted.

Lesnar also famously ended Undertaker’s winning streak at WrestleMania 30, causing the only blemish on The Phenom’s record.

Surprisingly, those are his only two victories.

His WrestleMania 20 loss to Goldberg was a huge disappointment, considering the match was not what fans had expected. His WrestleMania return at the 29th installment featured a loss to Triple H. Last year’s WrestleMania saw Lesnar lose the WWE world heavyweight title to Seth Rollins in a bout also featuring Reigns.

Yes, the record books won’t be kind to Lesnar. But look past the numbers and examine each match.

Angle, Goldberg and Undertaker were traditional matches with rules involved. The encounter with Triple H was No Holds Barred. Plus, The Game barely survived his encounter with Lesnar. He had to Pedigree The Beast on steel steps to secure his victory.

Lesnar's match with Reigns turned into a Triple Threat thanks to Rollins’ inclusion with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Keep in mind that Lesnar dominated Reigns before Rollins arrived.

Can we think of any other big man who was that dominant?

Big Show wasn’t known for clinching the big one, let alone manhandling his opponents. Kane, despite his reputation, never had the chance to cut loose on WrestleMania. Undertaker’s situation is self-explanatory.

Comparing Lesnar to the days of old is a disservice to them. Andre the Giant and Yokozuna dominated in their era, but not at Lesnar’s level.

Past WrestleMania opponents are also integral to Lesnar’s mythos.

Angle is the only Olympic gold medalist in WWE history. Goldberg and Reigns are former football players. Rollins wrestled throughout the world. Undertaker and Triple H are pro wrestling legends.

This brings us to Ambrose. He’s just a man.

The matchup screams David vs. Goliath, with Lesnar channeling Goliath.

In a match where anything goes, Lesnar is at his most dangerous. Adding weapons to The Beast’s potential arsenal brings more chaos to the bout.

Lesnar is in his wheelhouse: a world where terror and mayhem are embraced and welcomed. The only difference is that he’s facing an opponent who isn’t afraid of him. Expect Lesnar to be completely unhinged, taking out his primal aggression on Ambrose.

Win or lose, expect The Beast to solidify himself as WWE’s greatest monster.
