WWE Superstar Power Rankings for Week of March 7

The Doctor Chris MuellerMar 7, 2016

This week's WWE Superstar Power Rankings saw quite a shift. Some people fell out, others made the cut and some saw significant movement up or down the list.

WWE Roadblock is being built up a little more than past WWE Network specials, and we saw some big additions to the card over the past seven days.

We have also seen some movement regarding WrestleMania 32. A new match has been added for the Divas Championship after Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch fought twice for the right to challenge Charlotte.

However, the biggest story has to be Dean Ambrose being granted a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. If he is somehow able to defeat Triple H at Roadblock, it could change two major WrestleMania main events.

Let's take a look at how the top 10 has changed over the past week.

10. The Miz

1 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

The Miz breaks into the top 10 this week after finally being put into a storyline following several months of having nothing more to do than mediate other people's feuds on MizTV.

Not only did he get his own storyline, but he actually picked up a win over Dolph Ziggler. It's been almost a year since The Miz won a televised singles match, so it was a nice change of pace.

The Miz is a great heel because he can draw genuine heat from the crowd. He is a valuable asset, and finding something for him took far too long.

He and Ziggler have great chemistry, and a WrestleMania feud could be just the thing they need to make both of them look good.

9. Dolph Ziggler

2 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

Ziggler managed to barely beat The Miz in the power rankings, but only because he is a slightly better wrestler. Besides that, they had an even week.

The Miz picked up his win on Raw, while Ziggler got even with him on SmackDown. Both bouts were less than two minutes, so they didn't get a chance to do enough to move higher up the list.

These two men have crossed paths a number of times over the years, and they always manage to put on good performances.

Since neither of them have a title, this feud will be all about pride. Hopefully WWE finds a way to make this storyline a bit more interesting as we get closer to WrestleMania.

8. Kevin Owens

3 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 10

Kevin Owens jumped a few spots from last week thanks to appearances on both Raw and SmackDown. You might be thinking "Didn't he lose those matches?"

Yes, but the reason Owens can lose and still move up the list is because he is that damn good. His promos are always entertaining, and his ability in the ring is among the best in the company.

His main event against Ambrose on SmackDown was outstanding, and it's become a pattern for him to be in the best matches of the week.

It looks like Owens is going to end up defending his Intercontinental Championship against Big Show at WrestleMania. While beating the giant isn't the accomplishment it used to be, it will still give Owens bragging rights.

7. The Dudley Boyz

4 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

The Dudley Boyz are natural heels, and they have found new life ever since turning on The Usos a few weeks ago.

We know The Usos will always put all their effort into what they do, so a feud between these two teams will be good, even without the Tag Team Championships on the line.

Seeing Bubba and D-Von assert their dominance on SmackDown by attacking Jimmy and Jey brought back memories of the team who ruled the tag team division during the Attitude Era.

The Dudley Boyz keep saying they aren't a nostalgia act, and they have proven that point every week. At this rate, it won't be long before they find themselves with the tag titles back around their waists.

6. The New Day

5 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 5

If you don't like The New Day, you don't like to have fun. Win, lose or draw, you are always going to remember what Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston are doing on any given night.

The current feud with AJ Styles and Chris Jericho will elevate the team, especially if it is able to defeat Y2AJ at WrestleMania.

These two teams are set to fight for the titles on Raw, so we could see new champions by the end of the night. The great thing about The New Day is how the group doesn't need the belts to be entertaining.

The New Day might be a comedy act at its core, but you always feel like it's believable when they win. Other comedy characters usually lose, but Woods, Kingston and Big E always find a way to keep the titles.

5. Y2AJ

6 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 6

Y2AJ just barely beat out The New Day thanks to a submission victory on Raw. Jericho and Styles have meshed into a cohesive unit quickly, and we could see them become tag team champions on this week's Raw.

Styles quickly went from newcomer to one of the most exciting performers on the roster. Anyone familiar with his work prior to his WWE debut knew what he was capable of, but seeing him be treated like a big deal by the company is the best part.

Jericho is one of those guys who will always be fun to watch, so putting him with Styles was a great way to integrate The Phenomenal One into the roster even more.

4. The Undertaker

7 of 10

Previous Rank: Unranked

The Undertaker's presence is so powerful he automatically jumps into the power rankings with just a short appearance during Raw.

We didn't exactly get an explanation as to why he is choosing to do Vince McMahon's bidding, but he did deliver a message loud and clear to the boss.

There is no believable way Shane McMahon could defeat The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell, so there is bound to be some sort of equalizer.

We're just under a month away from WrestleMania, so we can expect Taker to start appearing more often to hype the event.

3. Triple H

8 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 2

With Roman Reigns currently healing from surgery, Triple H has entered into a short program with Dean Ambrose.

The authority figure versus the rebel is a feud we have seen told many times before, but it never seems to get old because people like seeing someone stand up to their boss.

Trips is a great heel, and he has interacted well with Ambrose. Their match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is guaranteed to be violent and entertaining.

2. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks

9 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 9 (Banks)

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks shot up the list to No. 2 this week thanks to two great matches on Raw and SmackDown.

Both bouts ended in controversy, so the only logical decision was to have both women challenge Charlotte for the Divas Championship at WrestleMania.

Banks and Lynch have been killing it lately, and they show no signs of slowing down. With any luck, both of these talented wrestlers will win the Divas title before the year is out.

It's amazing how three women from NXT could change the whole Divas division, but that is what Banks, Lynch and Charlotte have done.

1. Dean Ambrose

10 of 10

Previous Rank: No. 1

Ambrose takes the top spot for the second straight week after opening and closing both Raw and SmackDown.

He began Raw by challenging Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and then he closed the show with a match against Sheamus.

Ambrose went on to open SmackDown with a promo, and then he defeated Owens in a great main event. You don't often see the same guy bookend both shows in a week, but Ambrose made it look easy.

If he is able to defeat Triple H for the title at Roadblock, it will change the WrestleMania card significantly. It would be surprising, and that's why WWE should do it.

Who do you think will walk out of Roadblock with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?
