NFL Free-Agent Tracker 2016: Tracking All the Latest Signings

Matt FitzgeraldMar 6, 2016

Wednesday marks the official start of the 2016 NFL free-agency period, but teams can commence negotiations with agents as soon as Monday.

There are plenty of big names on the open market to keep an eye on amid this critical phase of the offseason.

Gifted defensive ends such as Malik Jackson, Mario Williams and Jason Pierre-Paul are only some of the major headliners. Much is made of how devalued running backs have become, but prominent ball-carriers in Matt Forte, Doug Martin and Lamar Miller are free to sign elsewhere.

Rebuilding a team overnight through free agency is a tricky proposition. Although teams with tons of cap room may make a big splash or two, most front offices figure to count on draft picks to fill out roster depth rather than overpay for veterans.

Keep checking back here to get the latest news on free-agent signings, courtesy of NFL.com's transaction tracker.
