Bray Wyatt's WWE Roadblock 2016 Match vs. Brock Lesnar Is a Major Opportunity
Is Bray Wyatt just a paper monster, or does he belong in battles with Godzilla-like behemoths? His clash with Brock Lesnar at WWE Roadblock 2016 is a prime chance to answer that.
Facing Lesnar on the upcoming WWE Network live special rather than WrestleMania is no mere consolation prize; it has the potential to be a vital showcase for The Eater of Worlds.
Wyatt has a shot on March 12 to show WWE officials that he should have been the one in their WrestleMania plans. A top-notch opponent, a narrative already in progress and a hunger to prove himself will add up to this being a critical match on Wyatt's timeline.

The Roadblock card is quickly growing. After only rumored bouts set for the event, Dean Ambrose is now set to take on Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the NXT tag titles will be on the line, and, as announced on Thursday's SmackDown, Lesnar will collide with Wyatt.
Suddenly, Roadblock has become more of a marquee event. Scott Fishman of the Orlando Sentinel joked about it feeling like WrestleMania:
For Wyatt, this may be the closest he gets to a high-profile match at The Show of Shows.
While Lesnar is lined up to take on Ambrose, Wyatt is currently without a dancing partner. And WWE hasn't hinted at him heading toward a big bout either.
So Roadblock is instead Wyatt's chance to have a story reach its climax—to play a part in a vengeance-centered drama.
Leading up to the Royal Rumble, Wyatt led the way as his crew assaulted Lesnar. Selecting a victim who is that high on the WWE food chain had The Wyatt Family moving toward the next tier.
The Wyatt Family then pounced on Lesnar during the Rumble itself.
It looked as if Lesnar was surely going to erupt on the faction, likely leading to a Wyatt-Lesnar showdown. The narrative got sidetracked, though. Lesnar veered off into a feud with Ambrose, leaving Wyatt out in the cold.
Booking this Roadblock bout allows Wyatt to step back into the spotlight and for him and The Beast Incarnate to have the clash of titans WWE seemed to be building toward.
This will be the first time in a long while that Wyatt will stand alone on center stage. Wyatt's last singles match on a PPV or live special came during Hell in a Cell last October. His last win on that kind of show happened back in July at Battleground, per CageMatch.
No one expects Wyatt to win here, but facing Lesnar is huge.
If he and Lesnar tear the house down, putting on a WrestleMania-worthy match, it sends a statement to WWE. If he looks as if he belongs in a showdown with a legit megastar, it will say a lot about where he should be moving forward.
Cesaro's instant classics against John Cena last year got people talking about him belonging in the main event scene. That's the kind of discussion Wyatt can start with something special against the mayor of Suplex City.
And Lesnar's smashmouth, hard-hitting style is a perfect fit opposite Wyatt.
The Eater of Worlds has been at his best when the action turns most violent and viciousness is at a surplus. An eye-catching slobberknocker is well within his grasp, and so is much needed momentum.
WWE has undervalued Wyatt and his posse. In recent weeks, the faction has clashed with Ryback, Kane and Big Show, and it has been unable to come out on top. That latest failure continued the trend of WWE depleting The Wyatt Family's ability to intimidate.

Steve Austin commented on the situation on The Steve Austin Show. He said, "They don't mean what they should to this company. And Bray Wyatt, being the leader of this faction, is taking a huge hit."
Roadblock is a way for Wyatt to bounce back, but WWE will have to be creative. Lesnar can't lose this close to his big WrestleMania showdown with Ambrose. Wyatt, though, can be far more than a stepping stone.
Allowed to push Lesnar, be portrayed as a predator on his level and given ample ring time, Wyatt can emerge from Roadblock looking more like the fearsome creature he claims to be.
