CB Jonathan Jones Runs Official 4.33 40-Yard Dash at 2016 NFL Combine

Tyler ConwayFeb 29, 2016

Former Auburn cornerback Jonathan Jones set the benchmark for his position in the 40-yard dash Monday at the NFL Scouting Combine, running an official time of 4.33 seconds. His unofficial time was 4.28 seconds.

If the 4.28 time held up, it would've ranked among the best ever recorded at the combine. Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson's time of 4.24 seconds is the current record. Unfortunately for Jones, his 4.33 time wasn't good enough to crack the top 15, let alone the top 10.

Jones' time comes just days after Georgia running back Keith Marshall opened eyes with a 4.31-second dash. Prior to the combine, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller graded Jones as a fourth-round pick.
