WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for February 24

The Doctor Chris MuellerFeb 23, 2016

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

It's another light week, with just four matches, but that tends to be a good thing, as every bout gets a sufficient amount of time to tell a story.

Let's take a look at what's on tap for this week's episode of NXT.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

The Tag Teams

Two of NXT's best tag teams will do battle when Chad Gable and Jason Jordan go up against Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy.

This will likely be one of the best matches of the night. Both of these tag teams have shown the ability to put on great performances against the right opponents, and putting them in the ring together will lead to some great action.

We don't have clear No. 1 contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championships, so whoever wins this bout could be the team that challenges Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson down the road.

It will be interesting to see if Alexa Bliss has any impact on the outcome. She is starting to wrestle more these days, so she might not be relegated to the role of valet much longer.

The Men

In what will be his final match under the WWE banner, Bull Dempsey will take on Tommaso Ciampa in one of the two singles matches scheduled for Wednesday.

Dempsey was a unique talent but never quite found his groove in NXT. He either abandoned gimmicks as quickly as they started or went long periods of time without a win.

The saddest part is that he actually had a large following among the NXT Universe. Hopefully this isn't the last we hear from him, because he has a lot to offer.

It really doesn't matter who wins this bout, since Dempsey is no longer with the company, so the only thing he can do is go out with a good performance.

The second singles bout of the evening will see Apollo Crews battle newcomer Biff Busick. That name might not be familiar to most fans, but Busick is no rookie.

He spent a few years honing his skills in several indy promotions before making his way to NXT, so he has a good foundation on which to build.

Since this is his first televised match, it's important to make a good impression. Even if he doesn't win, a good performance could help him impress the right people.

The Women

The main event of the evening will see best friends Carmella and Bayley team up to take on the two women who have been thorns in their sides, Eva Marie and Nia Jax.

Putting Marie and Jax together is an interesting move. They are polar opposites except for their heel personas, and sometimes that makes for the best pairings.

Marie is still working to shed the reputation she acquired when she first joined the company, so putting her in matches like this is a good way to help mask her shortcomings.

After suffering an attack at the hands of Jax and Marie two weeks ago, Bayley is looking to get some retribution. She will have some help from Carmella, but they will have to overcome Jax's overwhelming size advantage.

This week's show doesn't look like it will affect many of the ongoing storylines or give us any new title contenders, but it should produce some good wrestling, which is what matters in the end.

What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
