The Houston Rockets have been the source of several rumors surrounding key players before Thursday's NBA trade deadline, per Nick Borges of ESPN, and point guard Patrick Beverley is the latest player to join that buzz.

Rockets Reportedly Shopping Beverley

The Rockets have reportedly "been making calls in the last few hours checking to see the value of PG Patrick Beverley," according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.
Beverley, 27, is averaging 8.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 26.7 minutes per game this season.
All of those numbers except for his steals are down from a season ago, however, perhaps due to Ty Lawson being introduced into the mix this season. The Rockets as a team have struggled in general, though, so it's hardly a surprise that everyone from Dwight Howard to Beverley has been linked to trade rumors.
On the other hand, Beverley hasn't been Houston's issue this season. He's the team's one guard who plays solid defense, and he's continued to play a well-rounded role for the team.
Houston's issues also seem to run deeper than any one player.
"[We're] just not willing to help each other out," superstar James Harden told Calvin Watkins of ESPN. "That's all it is. Everything, both ends of the floor. That's what a team is."
Given the team's obvious chemistry issues, general manager Daryl Morey discussed the possibility of shaking up the roster before the trade deadline.
"We're generally an active team," Morey told Watkins, regarding trades. "I mean we won't force anything. They're not many windows where you get a chance to upgrade your team. We'll have to look at it very closely."
So it's hardly a surprise that the Rockets have been one of the more oft-mentioned teams in trade rumors this offseason. And given the need for changes, even solid and steady performers like Beverley could be moved.
