Ilkay Gundogan will reportedly reject a new deal at Borussia Dortmund, paving the way for an anticipated move to Manchester City in the summer.

"The 25-year-old’s agent and uncle, Ilhan, was photographed talking to City’s football director Txiki Begiristain in the conference room of the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam earlier this week," reported John Percy of the Telegraph, who added the fee will be in the region of £25 million.

According to a Feb. 19 SPORT report, Gundogan has told Dortmund and Barcelona "he will be joining City this summer," relayed Max Miller of the Metro.

Gundogan's Class Holds Europe-wide Appeal

The Germany international is an attractive target for a number of clubs, as he is very hardworking and can provide both defensive strength in the centre of midfield and a creative impetus.

Gundogan is an accomplished box-to-box midfielder, and it is unsurprising that his potential availability should prick the ears of so many top clubs.

He has been a mainstay under Thomas Tuchel this season and contributed hugely as they lie second in the German top flight.

According to David Wright of the Express, Manchester United were among those heavily linked with Gundogan last summer, but it seems he is destined for the blue half of Manchester.
