Australian Open runner-up Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears have had their first child, according to the BBC.

The baby girl is thought to have been born on Sunday.

The couple announced Sears' pregnancy last summer following their wedding in Dunblane, Scotland, in April 2015.

In the lead-up to last month's Australian Open, world No. 2 Murray said:

My child is more important to me, and my wife is more important to me, than a tennis match.

It's a big change for me and my wife, but that's the current priority and I'll see after that.

I have no idea how that will change things. I still love tennis.
