Nike Air Foamposite One 'Northern Lights' Release Date, Pics, Price

Giancarlo Ferrari-KingFeb 11, 2016

Nike has once again managed to put the world on notice heading into NBA All-Star Weekend. Sneakerheads across the globe are salivating over the fact that the Nike Foamposite One "Northern Lights" will be unleashed Friday, February 12.

Like countless other Foamposite releases over the years, this "Northern Lights" drop was drenched in a smooth, candy-like coating of paint. Hues of green, purple and black amalgamate together, constructing a beautiful motif.

This specific pattern and name reflects the breathtaking polar light phenomenon that often takes place in the sky. Considering that the All-Star Game will be played in Toronto this year, that inspiration was fitting.

The Nike Foamposite One "Northern Lights" is another detail-driven sneaker. Details that shine from the spray-painted color scheme that explodes off the midsole all the way over to the multicolored lace caps. Nike really went all in on this shoe.

Die-hard patrons of the Foamposite Empire will have to cough up $275 for these—a familiar financial commitment for any Foamposite model. But if you're feeling the paint job and natural theme, it's more than worth it.

Ever since Nike Vice President of Design Eric Avar dreamed up this silhouette back in 1997, this shoe has taken on a life of its own. Make sure you check back February 12 for a shot at copping the latest rendition of a classic. Because like every other Nike Foamposite One release, these kicks will be taxing to secure.
