Barcelona Fans Give Standing Ovation to Ex-Real Madrid Player Denis Cheryshev

Ronaldinho and Andres Iniesta are among players who have been applauded by rival fans in the Real Madrid-Barcelona rivalry—but not like this.

Early in the second half of their 7-0 Copa del Rey win over Valencia on Wednesday night, Barcelona fans were treated to the sight of Denis Cheryshev, the man at the centre of Los Blancos' expulsion from the tournament in December.

The 25-year-old has since joined Gary Neville's Valencia on loan, and his introduction on Wednesday prompted quite the response from the supporters at the Camp Nou.

The Russian winger received a standing ovation as he made his way onto the field, and the home fans chanted his name.

A hat-trick by Lionel Messi and four goals from Luis Suarez ensured Luis Enrique's side has one foot in the final.
