College Football Week Four Predictions: Spread and Straight Up

Last week, I went 6-2 against the spread and 6-2 straight up. Not too bad at all. For the season so far I am 14-11 against the spread and 18-7 straight up.

Saturday

Minnesota at Northwestern (-2)

The Golden Gophers aren't bad this season, and Northwestern is having trouble dealing without now NFL RB Tyrell Sutton and a few other offensive playmakers.

Winner: (Spread) Minnesota; (Straight Up) Minnesota

TCU at Clemson (-2.5)

The Tigers are angry that nobody is taking them seriously. The Horned Frogs are strong on defense, but their offense will be stifled by Clemson's defense. I could definitely see this game coming down to special teams, where I think Clemson has the edge.

Winner: (Spread) Clemson; (Straight Up) Clemson

Boise State at Bowling Green (+16.5)

The Broncos have way too much offense for Bowling Green.

Winner: (Spread) Boise State; (Straight Up) Boise State

South Florida at Florida State (-14.5)

Without Matt Grothe, the Bulls have no chance against the Seminoles, who are coming off a big win over BYU.

Winner: (Spread) Florida State; (Straight Up) Florida State 

Colorado State at BYU (-15.5)

The Cougars are angry after the whuppin' they took last week and will come out firing.

Winner: (Spread) BYU; (Straight Up) BYU

Washington at Stanford (-7)

There's a chance the Huskies have a letdown this week, but I think they'll come out and get another win.

Winner: (Spread) Washington; (Straight Up) Washington

Iowa at Penn State (-9.5)

The Hawkeyes will play the Nittany Lions close in this bad weather game.

Winner: (Spread) Iowa; (Straight Up) Penn State

Washington State at USC (-46)

The Trojans won't score enough because they will be trying to protect Matt Barkley.

Winner: (Spread) Washington State; (Straight Up) USC

Arizona at Oregon State (-2)

The Rodgers brothers will be too much for Arizona in Corvallis.

Winner: (Spread) Oregon State; (Straight Up) Oregon State

Arkansas at Alabama (-17)

I think the Hogs offense with Ryan Mallet will give the Crimson Tide a little trouble for a while, and I've just got a feeling Arkansas will play Alabama close.

Grambling at Oklahoma State (-35)

The Cowboy will beat the brakes off of Grambling.

Winner: (Spread) Oklahoma State; (Straight Up) Oklahoma State

Now to the game of the weekend:

Miami at Virginia Tech (+2.5)

The Hurricanes have looked really good so far, and the Hokies cannot stop the run. Bad combination. Jacory Harris can make a huge push towards the Heisman in this game. Miami keeps on rollin'.
