Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier 2 Set for UFC 197

The UFC announced Saturday the return of Jon Jones will be at UFC 197 on April 23 in a rematch against current UFC light heavyweight titleholder, Daniel Cormier, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old Jones was widely considered the sport's best fighter until an April 2015 arrest on felony hit-and-run charges derailed his career. He was suspended and stripped of the UFC light heavyweight title he owned for nearly five years. He was reinstated in October 2015 but has yet to return to fighting.

Jones (21-1) was the youngest fighter to hold the UFC title and successfully defended it eight times, per Shaun Al-Shatti of MMAFighting.com. One of those eight fights was against Cormier, whom Jones earned a unanimous decision over in January 2015.  

Cormier (17-1), a former Olympic wrestler, defeated Anthony Johnson in May 2015 to earn the light heavyweight title.
