Per that report, the officers tried to flag down Mesbah in Genoa, but the full-back initially sped up rather than pulling over before eventually being caught.
Mesbah, 31, has made seven appearances (six starts) for Sampdoria in Serie A play this season, failing to score a goal or an assist while averaging 1.1 tackles and 2.4 clearances per game, per WhoScored.com. He's also posted a mediocre 6.39 average match rating, according to the site.
