WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for February 3

The Doctor Chris MuellerFeb 2, 2016

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

Last week's show ended in controversy after Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn had Baron Corbin in different submission holds when he tapped out, leading to what appeared to be two winners in the No. 1 contender's match for the NXT Championship.

William Regal said he would review the tape before making a decision, so we still don't have a challenger for Finn Balor's title. Let's hope that issue and more is addressed during this week's episode of NXT.

The Tag Teams

Two standout tag teams will be in action this week when The Hype Bros battle The Vaudevillains. There might not be anything on the line officially, but the winner could easily end up in the running for a shot at the tag titles.

Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley have come together to form an entertaining team. They have great energy and enough similarities in their characters to make their partnership look natural.

Simon Gotcha and Aiden English have been looking for a way to stay relevant after losing the NXT Tag Team Championships to Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder.

These two teams have completely different styles, but there is enough experience between them to let that be more of an advantage than a disadvantage.

The second tag team bout of the evening will see Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady take on two local talents. We all know "local talents" is usually a different way of saying jobber, so the outcome to this one seems obvious.

Amore and Big Cass are coming off winning the Best Tag Team of the Year Award, so this match is just an excuse to let them do some of their signature moves and get an easy win.

The Women

Two matches featuring the women of NXT will take place this week. The first will feature Carmella going up against the more experienced Emma.

Carmella has been on a roll lately. She has picked up some big wins in recent weeks and earned herself a shot at Bayley's Women's Championship.

Carmella and Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss and Emma two weeks ago, so the Australian Diva will be looking for some retribution.

If Dana Brooke accompanies Emma to the ring, she could be a factor in the outcome. Carmella has shown a lot of improvement over the past year, and Emma will be a real test to see how ready she is to be more than just a valet.

The second women's match of the night will see Asuka take on Santana Garrett—some of you may remember her as Brittany from TNA.

Garrett is not signed to a deal with WWE, but a solid performance against someone as talented as Asuka could open some doors for her.

Asuka might be viewed as one of the most dominant women on the roster, but she is floundering a bit. She's not in the hunt for the Women's Championship, and she seems to have moved on from her feud with Emma and Brooke.

If the Japanese star is able to pick up the win in this match, it will do little more than keep her busy until she ends up chasing the title.

The Men

The main event for this week's show will likely be what brings most viewers in. Finn Balor will be facing Apollo Crews in a non-title match.

Crews and Balor stole the show with their last match in November, and there is little doubt they will manage to do the same thing this week.

While Crews wouldn't win the title with a victory over Balor, it would give him ammunition to request a shot at the belt in the near future.

While this lineup wouldn't cut it as the card for a TakeOver event, it should provide some great action and entertaining moments.

What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
