Noel Gallagher Is Looking Forward to 'Licking Pep Guardiola's Face'

The biggest news on this transfer deadline day is undoubtedly Manchester City's confirmation that Pep Guardiola will be in charge of the team for the 2016-17 season, per the club's official website.

After the news broke, one of the club's most famous fans celebrated via his Instagram feed, warning that the Spanish coach might be subject to some "face licking" when he arrives in Manchester. 

Noel Gallagher provided plenty of memorable licks with Oasis, but according to his most recent Instagram caption, his most notorious may be ahead of him yet:

"

Noel's younger brother Liam also heralded Pep's impending arrival on his Twitter feed. Rather than promising to lick his face, though, the former Oasis singer went with the well-worn Gallagher trope of referencing the Beatles:
