Niasse was enjoying an outstanding season with Lokomotiv, having bagged 13 goals and 10 assists in 23 matches for the Russian club, and was named the Russian Premier League's Player of the Year for 2015.
The 25-year-old possesses great pace and physicality, not to mention a keen eye for goal, as his tally would suggest.
Here are some of the skills Everton fans can look forward to from the Senegalese forward:
Russian football journalist Artur Petrosyan gave further details:
Niasse is also capable of filling in on the wing, so if utilised there, he may provide the added bonus of shoring up the Toffees on their flanks thanks to his work rate and desire to win the ball.
Primarily, Niasse will offer some much-needed cover for star front man Romelu Lukaku in the wake of Steven Naismith's move to Norwich City and with 32-year-old Arouna Kone proving somewhat hit and miss.
Blues fans could see him in action as early as Wednesday when Everton host Newcastle United or on Saturday when the Toffees travel to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City.
