Novak Djokovic loves it Down Under, and he proved it yet again with a resounding 6-1, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Great Britain's Andy Murray.
Djokovic's dominant win gave him the sixth Australian Open title and the 11th major of his career. The Joker is on quite a roll, as he has won three straight Grand Slams since he was beaten in the French Open last year by Stan Wawrinka.

Murray lost for the fifth time in the championship round in Melbourne, and four of those defeats have come at the hands of Djokovic. Murray seemed unsure of himself in the first set before playing much better tennis in the second and third.
Murray was trailing 3-1 in the final set when he put together a three-game winning streak and appeared to have a good chance of getting back in the match. However, Murray became unglued during the big points in the tiebreaker. He opened with a double-fault and added one more before succumbing meekly.
Djokovic was thrilled to win in Australia again, and the victory allowed him to tie Roy Emerson's record of six championships in the event. Djokovic recognized the legendary Australian champion after completing his victory.

Murray's biggest problem was his second serve, as he was only able to win 14 out of 40 second-serve points. Djokovic showed much more resourcefulness, winning 20 of 38.

The pressure of playing in a Grand Slam final seemed to impact Murray once again. He had 65 unforced errors, while Djokovic had just 41.

Djokovic paid his respects to Murray, calling him a "great champion" and saying that he was "sure" he would have many more opportunities to play for the title.
But despite that display of sportsmanship, it seems unlikely that Murray or anyone else will have many moments in the sun.
Djokovic is simply too good right now, and he proved that by hammering both Roger Federer and Murray in Melbourne.
Those victories allowed Djokovic to take the championship trophy from Ken Rosewall, another Australian legend.

The French Open is next on the Grand Slam circuit, and that's the only one of the majors that Djokovic has not won.
