Murray vs. Raonic: Score, Highlights from Australian Open Semifinals 2016
Andy Murray will take his fifth shot at an Australian Open men's singles title when he faces Novak Djokovic after a five-set come-from-behind win over Milos Raonic in Friday's semifinal.
Twice, second-seed Murray bounced back from a one set deficit, ultimately defeating No. 13 Raonic 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2.
The underdog Raonic looked to be in control after his tiebreak win in the third set, but a medical timeout early in the fourth was the turning point. The Canadian received treatment for a right leg injury which proved to be his undoing in the late stages of the marathon match, which lasted four hours and four minutes.
After struggling with injuries for much of 2015, Raonic had been in top form throughout his fortnight in Melbourne, but his body refused to hold together long enough to allow him to become the first Canadian man ever to appear in a Grand Slam final.
The wily veteran, Murray made the most of his opportunity when it eventually arose. He'll have one day to rest before facing off against Djokovic on Sunday in a rematch of the 2015 Australian Open final, which the Serb won in four sets.
