Australian Open Semifinal Betting Odds: Federer vs. Djokovic, Murray vs. Raonic

OddsShark.comJan 27, 2016

Novak Djokovic advanced into the finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments last season, going on to win three Grand Slam titles in the process. Djokovic could lock up another trip to the finals with a win over Roger Federer in the semifinals Thursday in Melbourne.

Roger Federer is going off as a 12-5 (+240) underdog to upset Djokovic in Thursday's semifinal match, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

While Djokovic has been a mainstay in the Australian Open finals with four Australian Open titles in the last five years, Federer will be looking to advance to the final for just the first time since 2010, when he defeated Andy Murray to win the tournament.

Djokovic and Federer have had a fantastic head-to-head rivalry over the last 10 years. Not including Djokovic's walkover win in the 2014 ATP World Tour Finals when Federer had to withdraw, these two elite players are split down the middle with 22 wins apiece in 44 matchups.

Djokovic, a bystander in last week's match-fixing news cycle, holds the slight edge in Grand Slam meetings with an 8-6 record over Federer. Coming into the tournament as the favorite to win it all, Djokovic is a 1-3 (-300) favorite to defeat Federer on Thursday on the Australian Open betting lines.

In the later semifinal matchup, Murray is set to take on Milos Raonic. Murray is still looking for his first win in the Australian Open, but he's had plenty of success in this tournament before, advancing to the finals four times in the last six years.

After a strong season in 2015 with four tournament wins and three runner-up finishes, Murray is a 5-13 (-260) favorite to advance to his first final of the 2016 season on Thursday.

With 21-10 odds, Raonic would pay +210 on an upset in the semifinals, and early indications point to a potential career year for the 25-year-old pro. Raonic had just one tournament win in both 2014 and 2015, but has already matched that total this year with a win in Brisbane, defeating Federer in the final.

With an upset win over Stan Wawrinka in the fourth round and a win over Gael Monfils in the quarterfinals, Raonic enters this semifinal match in top form.
