Shakhtar reportedly rejected the Reds' second bid on Jan. 25, holding out for their valuation of £38 million, per Simon Jones of MailOnline.

Teixeira Would Have Been a Perfect Fit for Klopp

Teixeira, 26, would likely have fitted in brilliantly at Anfield. He has netted 22 league goals in just 15 matches this season, per WhoScored.com, and would have bolstered Jurgen Klopp's striking options, with Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge all currently injured and Christian Benteke lacking form.

But Liverpool will have to find a new attacking target come the summer.
