Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch Announced for WWE Royal Rumble 2016 PPV

Danny WebsterJan 18, 2016

Becky Lynch will get a chance to get revenge against her friend and take her title, too.

WWE announced that Lynch will be facing Charlotte for the Diva's Championship at this Sunday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

WWE provided a clip of the match being made:

Although the promo was not its best, Lynch going after Ric Flair and forcing him to agree to the match on behalf of Charlotte was an interesting twist.

This has the potential to create a rift between the two-time Hall of Famer and the star Diva, which could make for a split. It may not come at the Royal Rumble, but WWE seems to have planted the seeds, especially if Charlotte loses Sunday.

Mike Callow of ESPN 980 in Washington, D.C., thinks the Divas division is going in the right direction with these two at the helm:

There has yet to be a Diva to come along who poses a serious threat toward Charlotte and her reign as the champion. Lynch is talented, but she might not be ready for the title yet. Charlotte is more proven at this point and is the most dominant Diva on the main roster.

Charlotte could hold on to the title until WrestleMania before possibly dropping it to someone on the NXT roster.
