Mike Wallace Released by Vikings
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Mike Wallace will hit the free-agent market after the team announced his release on Tuesday.
Wallace, 29, was acquired by the Vikings last offseason in a trade with the Miami Dolphins. He had 39 receptions for 473 yards and two touchdowns in 2015, marking the least productive season of his seven-year career.
Coming into the year, Wallace never had less than 750 receiving yards or five touchdowns in a season, so his drastic dip in production was somewhat of a surprise. Adjusting to a new system was surely a factor. So, too, was Stefon Diggs' emergence as quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's top target, or the fact that the Vikings had a tame passing attack in general, finishing 31st in passing offense this season.
