Panthers and Canucks Get into Fight After Overtime Winner, Benches Empty
The Florida Panthers saw their 12-game winning streak snapped by the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night, but the result—and a historic moment—took a backseat to what happened after the game ended.
Vancouver's Daniel Sedin found the back of the net on a power play midway through overtime to give the Canucks a 3-2 victory. The goal was Sedin's second of the game and the 346th of his career, tying a Canucks franchise record.
Moments after Sedin's goal, tempers flared as the two teams got into it, with both benches ultimately spilling onto the ice. (Note: Vancouver's bench was already on the ice to celebrate the game-winning goal.)

There was a lot of jawing and shoving, but things did not get out of control.
It's not clear what exactly led to the benches-clearing altercation. However, according to Sportsnet's Irfaan Gaffar, someone crossed the line:
Florida and Vancouver have already played both of their two scheduled games against each other. If there's another meeting between the two teams this season, you better believe emotions will be running high, as the Stanley Cup will be on the line.
