Tuesday Recap
Querrey saved five match points in a monster second-set tiebreak against Bedene to force a decider before the Brit was forced to retire after taking a medical timeout.
The opener had also gone to a tiebreak—which Bedene won 7-5—as the pair traded blows in a bruising encounter lasting just under two hours.
Undoubtedly Querrey had the momentum in the third set having kept his hopes alive, and he now faces a huge challenge against third seed Isner as he attempts to make the quarter-finals.
Eighth seed Agut had an easier time of things in his first-round match on Tuesday, seeing off Jiri Vesely in 76 minutes.
Meanwhile, Fognini went the distance with Joao Sousa, with the pair exchanging the opening two sets before a very tight decider.

The Portuguese had two match points in the third set as the pair shared six breaks of serve between them, but it was eventually Fognini who prevailed courtesy of a tiebreak victory.
Paire's win came just inside 90 minutes against Auckland-born Michael Venus.
The home favourite put up an impressive fight against the fifth seed, but he was unable to convert any of his five break-point opportunities, which could have seen him cause an upset.
Just a single break of serve in the second set proved the difference for Kohlschreiber as he beat Becker having prevailed in a very tight first-set tiebreak.
Rosol was the final winner of the day's action as he also took the advantage with an opening-set tiebreak victory, before taking the second set 6-4.
Wednesday will see the second-round action get under way, and the likes of David Ferrer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga start their Auckland campaigns.
