Best Booking Options for WWE to Resurrect Fading Wyatt Family

Tom ClarkJan 7, 2016

Bray Wyatt is one of the most captivating characters WWE has seen in years, and his family is both compelling yet creepy at the same time. There should be a plethora of storylines and angles that could spring from this gimmick and spotlight the group's strengths as the company's most dangerous faction.

But nothing seems to be happening at all right now. The Wyatt Family appears to be on life support, and something must be done to bring it back to life.

How can a character like Bray now find himself in this position? He's still on TV, the family is still being used, so it's not as if the group is in any obvious danger of being pulled. However, it isn't doing anything substantial, either.

The mysterious enigma who stared through the camera as if he could actually see you, the same man who cut a promo as if he were delivering a sermon in hell itself, can't seem to get anywhere past the midcard in WWE.

For a Superstar who can do so much and has such an effect when he speaks to not get a legitimate shot at the top is completely illogical, by WWE's standards. While he may not be the best hand in the ring, he has what the company traditionally wants and historically has always elevated.

He makes for good television and is able to connect with the crowd every time he opens his mouth.

But there is no doubting that something must be done, because The Wyatt Family is a gimmick that is definitely worth saving.

Establish its dominance

The Wyatts take down Ryback.

Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are usually booked as the tag team of the group and at times have worked matches without Bray and Braun Strowman. But this must come to an end.

When guys face The Wyatt Family, they must face every member. That means all four men should be involved, despite what kind of match it is, and must always do so in a winning effort. The Wyatts must start going over, and this must happen every time out.

This does not necessarily mean they should start beating main event talents right away, but they must own the lower-to-middle of the card.

From the curtain jerk to the semi-main event, The Wyatt Family must be dominant, and fans must grow to both expect and respect that dominance.

Claim championship gold

The Fabulous Freebirds

It's been said of Bray Wyatt that he doesn't really need a title. His character is such that he can get over just fine without a belt, including that of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

But if the family were to be booked in a dominant fashion, then championships would surely follow.

That means the tag team championships should come to Rowan and Harper, while a secondary championship should come to Bray. The Freebird Rule applied to The New Day could be put into effect, meaning Strowman would be included, while Bray would capture either the intercontinental or United States title.

With three of the five men's championships around their waists, the Wyatts would become more important and claim a higher profile than ever before.

The top guys must fall

Undertaker takes on Luke Harper.

When The Wyatt Family took on The Brothers of Destruction, fans held their collective breath. Was this to be Bray's moment, with his family finally inheriting the darkness of WWE? Bray's gimmick has always been just on the edge of it, so was he going to replace Undertaker in that realm?

But it was not to be, as The Deadman and The Big Red Machine laid The Wyatts to rest once again. However, that has to change.

Just facing two legends should've been enough to at least help Bray and Company, but that did not happen. The Wyatt Family was left where it was before, and Undertaker disappeared back into the ether once again.

But the family needs to take a few top guys down if it is to be taken seriously. Simply facing them in the ring is not enough anymore. It must win and win handily. Whether it's John Cena, Randy Orton or even Brock Lesnar, WWE's main stars must fall to the family.

Something big must happen

Bray and Company

Bray may very well be a huge babyface star in the making. The fans love him, he has a real presence on camera and he can get over with just one promo. If the timing is right and the company finally decides to make the call, Bray could potentially out-pop every face on the card.

But the company needs top-notch heels as well. Seth Rollins is out, and Triple Hthough he has heatis not a full-time wrestler anymore.

WWE needs guys who are physically able to go week in and week out and can generate nuclear heat every time they hit the ring.

Bray is capable of doing either, but the commitment to him and his family must be there. The Wyatts can no longer just tread water while other guys are swimming around them. This means something big must happen, and it must happen now.

Maybe Bray will lead his family into an association with The Authority. Acting under the direction of Triple H, the Wyatts' union with The Authority could become one of the most dominant entities fans have seen since The Corporate Ministry.

Or perhaps The Wyatt Family could go to war with The Authority. This would cause Bray to make the turn and put his family on a major high in terms of popularity.

Whatever the plan may be for The Wyatt Family, fans can only hope it's put into motion soon. Of course, that's assuming there's a plan in the first place.
