Gruden Comments on Jones' Recovery Timeline
Wednesday, Feb. 24
Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said Jones will be ready for OTAs, adding that he thinks Jones can be a "No. 1 back," per Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
Alfred Morris led Washington in rushing during the regular season, carrying the ball 202 times for 751 yards and a touchdown. Jones came in right behind with 490 yards and three touchdowns on 144 carries and added 19 receptions for 304 yards and a TD.
Nobody will argue Jones is the most important star for Washington. He does add some depth to running back, though, and could give Kirk Cousins one more target in the passing game.
Jones' surgery was minor, so this shouldn't have any impact on next season. Hopefully with the procedure behind him, Jones can focus on developing and improving as a player rather than worrying about injuries.
