Yanks Take Series and Push Magic Number to 5
Most Yankee fans certainly didn’t expect another win today. We sure hoped for one, but the feeling the past few years was that we couldn’t beat these guys on their home turf. They proved that idea wrong.
A.J. Burnett put on another solid display today, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs and struck out 11 batters. His pitching line was: W, 5.2IP 7H 2R 2ER 3BB 11K. Girardi pulled Burnett with 2 outs recorded in the 6th inning, and AJ was furious. You could tell by his facial expression and the way he acted when he entered the dugout that he wanted to finish the inning.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Damaso Marte pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Burnett. Albaladejo entered the game, gave up a hit and recorded no outs. Girardi made a quick move to Phil Coke to record the last out of the 7th inning.
Ian Kennedy made his major league debut. He was one of the only options they had, considering they didn’t want to use Phil Hughes. Mariano Rivera entered the game in the 9th inning as usual, and locked down his 42nd save of the season.
The Yankee offense collected 7 hits, drew 5 walks, and knocked in three runs. Cano went 1-for-4 on the game, picking up a run and 2RBI’s. Cano actually got a hit with RISP. Good for him. I think we all know how rare those are. Melky Cabrera went 2-for-2 and knocked in an RBI.
