Oscar vs. Watford: Highlights, Reaction to Chelsea Midfielder's Missed Penalty
Chelsea's dreadful 2015-16 Premier League campaign continued on Saturday against Watford, as Oscar squandered a golden opportunity to take the late lead in almost comical fashion, missing from the penalty spot.
Eden Hazard had earned the spot-kick with just 10 minutes left on the clock, showing Valon Behrami enough of the ball to tempt the Switzerland international to lunge in. Tied at 2-2, Oscar stepped up to put his team ahead, but he slipped in his run-up and blasted the ball over the bar.
As you can see in the photo above, he lost his footing and landed on his backside while the ball sailed over the goal. He did a stutter-step during his run-up and almost looked hesitant, which may have contributed to the miss.
