Steelers vs. Bengals Fines Total $138,906: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

The Pittsburgh Steelers trounced the Cincinnati Bengals 33-20 in a Week 14 AFC North showdown, and some of the bad blood that spilled over on the field has resulted in hefty checks postmarked to the league office 

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Mark Kaboly, nine fines were doled out totaling $138,906. 

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict led the way with three fines worth $69,454 for roughing the passer, unnecessary roughness and a facemask, per USA Today's Tom Pelissero, while Steelers safety Mike Mitchell was fined roughly a third ($23,152) of that sum for a hit on Tyler Eifert that has sidelined the Bengals tight end for this Sunday's game with the San Francisco 49ers.

Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green was also fined $11,576 for punting the ball into the stands after scoring on a 66-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback-turned-starter AJ McCarron.

It should be noted Green was fined twice as much as Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews, who tossed a football into the stands after scoring a game-winning overtime touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season.

With both teams jockeying for playoff position entering Week 15, look for the Steelers and Bengals to be on better behavior when they hit the gridiron this weekend against non-AFC North foes.
