
Alfonzo Dennard Arrested: Latest Details, Comments and More
Former NFL cornerback Alfonzo Dennard will reportedly serve five days in jail after violating his probation for a third time.
Nichole Manna of the Lincoln Journal Star reported Dennard, 26, was booked Tuesday morning for the five-day sentence. He was placed on probation in 2012 after punching a police officer. He failed several alcohol tests over the past two months, violating the terms of the probation.
The report notes the defensive back, who starred at Nebraska before getting drafted in the seventh round by the New England Patriots, failed alcohol tests on Nov. 12, Dec. 2 and Dec. 8. He claimed after the second failed test that he uses NyQuil to help him sleep.

He originally spent 35 days in jail as a result of the 2012 case involving the police officer. He was also sentenced to three years probation and community service at the time, according to the report.
Dennard spent three seasons with the Patriots. He tallied 90 combined tackles, 16 passed defended, five interceptions and a forced fumble in 29 games. He was also part of the team that won last season's Super Bowl.
He caught on with the Arizona Cardinals for a short time after the Patriots waived him in May, but he was released again in July and has remained a free agent.
