The Spaniard endured a fairly unpleasant spell with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in 2007/08 and has been out of a job since leaving Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in 2014.
At least some people went to bat for Ramos.

Hughes suggests that while Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reluctant to part ways with Mourinho, the relationship between the manager and his players could force his hand, and Ramos is considered alongside Guus Hiddink as a potential replacement.
It certainly came across as good news for the Blues' league rivals.

Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are astonishingly 16th on the ladder after 16 games, with Monday night's 2-1 loss to Leicester City resembling something along the lines of rock bottom.
Their next league match is against fellow relegation battlers (let those three words sink in for a moment) Sunderland.
