LeGarrette Blount Injury Update: Patriots RB Reportedly out for Season
New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount is out for the year after suffering a hip injury, according to Mike Petraglia of WEEI and Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Blount, 29, rushed for 703 yards and six touchdowns this season, giving the team a bruising, between-the-tackles runner to complement smaller, shiftier backs like Dion Lewis (before he was injured) and James White, who have been utilized more heavily in the passing game.
The Patriots have been hit hard by injuries this season. Wideout Julian Edelman is currently out with a foot injury, while tight end Rob Gronkowski missed time with a knee injury as well. And Lewis was lost for the season earlier in the year to a torn ACL, meaning the Pats are now without their top two weapons in the backfield this season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
ESPN's Skip Bayless noted how the injuries keep piling up for the Pats:
Losing Blount in particular hurts, as he played 32.9 percent of the team's offensive snaps, per Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com, and ranked 11th in yards after contact per rush (2.13), according to ESPN Stats & Info.
White—who has accumulated 159 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in the last two games—will probably see even more touches going forward. Brandon Bolden will also be in line for more work and will take over Blount's role in the offense, while Montee Ball—whom New England signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, per Schefter—could also factor into the mix.
