Tuesday Recap

Goran Ivanisevic and Carlos Moya kicked off proceedings, and a clinical performance from the Spaniard earned him the Slammers' first set, 6-4.

A thrilling match between Kristina Mladenovic and Karolina Pliskova fittingly resulted in a tiebreaker after they enjoyed three breaks apiece, the latter ultimately coming out on top.

Then, Andy Murray made his first appearance of the competition for the Slammers, partnering with Belinda Bencic, per the tournament's official Twitter feed:

Midway through the set, he was subbed for Nick Kyrgios, but the Australian was unable to prevent the Royals from taking a 6-3 victory.

Federer and Marin Cilic then took on Kyrgios and Marcelo Melo in the men's doubles and, after taking an early break, had the chance to serve out the set at 5-4.

However, Murray was then subbed in for Kyrgios in a reverse of the previous set and helped the Slammers break back to force a tiebreaker, which they then comfortably won, 7-2.

Murray then took on Federer in the showpiece event and went 5-2 up before holding off a fightback to seal the set, 6-4.

Earlier, in the other match of the day, Rohan Bopanna made short work of James Blake as he raced to a 6-0 win in just 13 minutes:

Ajla Tomljanovic put up more of a fight against Agnieszka Radwanska, but despite her valiant efforts, the Pole's quality ultimately told, and the Croatian succumbed to a 4-6 defeat.

Up next were Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Jarmila Gajdosova against Bopanna and Sania Mirza. The Aces, who subbed in Ivan Dodig midway through the set, again won, 6-4.

The two men then partnered each other to take on Roger-Vasselin and Treat Huey. The Aces were forced to hold on at times, as they saved four out of four break points, but ultimately, they came out on top in a tiebreaker, undoubtedly helped by racking up 18 winners, according to the tournament's official website.

Bernard Tomic completed the clean sweep, earning five break-point opportunities despite some strong serving from Ivo Karlovic, who hit nine aces. The Australian only converted one of those break points, but that proved enough as his opponent was unable to take either of his two chances.
