Jerry Jones Assures Fans That Jason Garrett Gets As Angry As Any Other Redhead

Dan CarsonDec 15, 2015

Jerry Jones knows how it looks.

The Dallas Cowboys owner knows the fans want to see some emotion from Jason Garrett when the team is struggling. Just a brief moment of fire, anything to let them know their head coach cares as much as they do about that crappy catch-rule call.

And Jones assures you that despite appearances, deep down, in his heartiest of hearts, Jason Garrett burns with an unholy rage just like any other redheaded person.

This is what the Cowboys owner told the hosts of 105.3 The Fan's Shan & RJ show (h/t the Dallas Morning News' Jon Machota) on Tuesday morning.

Addressing Garrett's sideline demeanor, Jones wanted to head off any accusations of apathy involving his coach by explaining that Garrett does care but is too smart to lose control of the fury that boils eternally in his redheaded heart:

"

Well, Jason is a smart guy. He knows that if it's a sideline, he knows that those cameras are zeroed in on him. ... He's conscious of everything out there, make no mistake about it.

And you see very few redheads that aren't about to blow up inside when somebody is not doing right. And, so, it's all there. It's all there in a big way. And he will bite. You know the old adage, I don't know if he's going to get it done or not. Well, I've seen him bite as a puppy, and if they'll do that, they'll bite as a dog. He'll bite.

He's just smart enough in front of a press conference or smart enough on that sideline to be a little civil about it.

"

So let it be understood: Jason Garrett may look civil, but the redheaded Hulk that lurks in every ginger resides in him as well. And that Hulk will bite.
