A group of young patients at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool were treated to a special visit by Everton left-back Leighton Baines on Monday.

A total of 22 "Little Heroes" will act as mascots at this weekend's match between the Toffees and Leicester City, and Englishman Baines, who is an Alder Hey patron, paid a visit to the hospital to reveal the good news.

"Every single one of the children's stories is inspiring," Baines told Elliott Bretland of the MailOnline. "They've been through some really difficult times, not just the kids but their families too, so we're really honoured to be able to give them a special day at Goodison."

Roberto Martinez's side will be looking to make a statement against the top-of-the-table Foxes after consecutive Premier League draws against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Norwich.
