Manchester City confirmed Nasri's presence in their starting XI for the visit to St. Mary's.
Frenchman Looking for Consistency
Nasri was absent for much of the first half of City's 2015-16 campaign due to a hamstring injury, and his latest setback only provided further disruption to his season.
The emergence of other talents at the Etihad Stadium has diminished Nasri's prominence under boss Manuel Pellegrini, but the former Arsenal star remains a good option for the English giants and has shown excellent form in recent weeks with a goal and two assists in his last three games.
He started in 24 of his 33 appearances for the Citizens last season and scored just three goals.
With important matches coming up, including Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, Nasri can still make a telling impact on the season, but he'll need to avoid any more time on the treatment table.
