Plaxico Burress Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion: Latest Comments, Reaction
Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges Monday under a deal expected to require up to five years' probation and possible jail time, per Isaac Avilucea of the Trentonian.
Burress offered a brief comment as he exited the Mercer County criminal court, telling reporters to "have a good day," per Avilucea.
According to the report, the former NFL wide receiver sent a $47,903 electronic payment for his 2013 New Jersey state taxes, but the payment did not clear. Burress had signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2013 season that paid him a base salary of $940,000 with a $65,000 signing bonus.

Burress will be sentenced Feb. 5, according to Brown.
