Coming off an upset loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the New England Patriots will be looking for a bounce-back effort this weekend as they take on the Texans in Houston as just modest road favorites on the opening NFL Week 14 lines at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

The Patriots opened as 3.5-point favorites for their Sunday night matchup against the Texans after they fell 35-28 at home to the Eagles over the weekend as eight-point favorites. New England was also a small road favorite the previous week at Denver, losing that game 30-24 as 2.5-point chalk. After starting the season 10-0 straight-up, the Patriots are now 10-2 SU and just 5-4-3 against the spread heading into Week 14.

The Texans are 6-6 both SU and ATS on the season and tied with the Indianapolis Colts for first place in the AFC South standings. Houston, which is coming off a 30-21 loss at Buffalo as a three-point underdog, is just 1-4 ATS in its last five games against New England, according to the Odds Shark NFL database.

Meanwhile, the Colts opened as small 1.5-point road favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars for Week 14 at the sportsbooks as they try to assert themselves once again in the AFC South division race. The only other opening road favorite for Week 14 are the Seattle Seahawks, pegged as five-point chalk against the Baltimore Ravens for Sunday.

Week 14 kicks off Thursday night with the Arizona Cardinals sitting as seven-point opening favorites at home against the Minnesota Vikings. Arizona is 10-2 SU and 7-5 ATS on the season, while Minnesota is 8-4 SU and 9-3 ATS. The trends for Week 14 point out that the Vikings are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games as road underdogs in the month of December.
