Fourth Successive Defeat for the Warriors
The Slammers were dominant in their victory over the Warriors, as they dropped just one set.
Former French Open winner Carlos Moya and one-time U.S. and Australian Open champion Marat Safin kicked off proceedings in the men's legends singles.

A sloppy performance from Safin saw the Russian make 13 unforced errors in the set to Moya's seven, per the tournament's official website, as Moya got the Slammers off to a strong start.
Leander Paes and Pierre-Hugues Herbert helped the Warriors pull a set back on a tiebreaker to level the scores.
Philipp Kohlschreiber was the closest to making further inroads for the Warriors when he faced Nick Kyrgios in the men's singles, as he went a break up, but a clever use of the power point by the Australian pulled him back into contention, per IPTL on Twitter:
Kyrgios went on to win his set with a tiebreaker before successfully teaming up with Belinda Bencic, who thrashed Mirjana Lucic-Baroni 6-2, to beat Lucic-Baroni and Herbert in the mixed doubles.
Later, the Mavericks' Mark Philippoussis and Milos Raonic gave the Mavericks a commanding 2-0 lead in their match with the Royals, the former dismantling Goran Ivanisevic 6-2 and the latter edging out Tomas Berdych 6-4.
Daniel Nestor and Kristina Mladenovic continued their outstanding doubles partnership—unsurprising given they've won Wimbledon and the Australian Open together—with their third win of the competition, though they were taken to a tiebreaker by Treat Huey and Serena Williams.

In the women's singles, Williams produced one of the most thrilling sets of the day when she faced Ana Ivanovic as the pair exchanged five breaks of serve, but the American ultimately came out on top.
Richard Gasquet and Edouard Roger-Vasselin completed the victory with a 6-3 win over Berdych and Nestor.
The IPTL has already served up some exciting tennis, and with 14-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal due to make his first appearance imminently, that only looks set to continue.
